- The International Space Station weighs about 500 tons and is the same size as Bailey.
- Only one person in two billion will live to be Bailey.
- Bailey can grow up to three feet in a 24 hour period!

Yeah guys, I'm sorry I know these things suck. |

| | apathetic | ] | Last night, I was driving back from Kansas City down 87th street. I stopped at the intersection at Quivira. waiting for the signal to turn green. Glancing toward the crosswalk what should I spy but a mouse. Crossing four lanes of traffic, in the crosswalk, while the Walk sign was turned on. I realize this must have been a fluke, but goddamn if I wasn't tickled. |

| | Jill Scott (cuz she's freakin' sexy, and I'm straight!) | ] | Yay! It's my last petsitting job today. It's been a weird frickin' day, let me tell you. I had to take care of the 4 dogs in my care then drive into Lawrence today in order to prepare my apartment for a visit by my parents and grandmother. Then after going out to eat with them , Max, Howard, and Bertrand I hung out at home for a bit before attempting to return to KC to finish up petsitting, my car decided to die. No good reason, just....dead. I have no idea what to do about it. My sister lent me her car to get back to the house with the furry critters, but of course that meant I had to miss the EMU potluck and Honey's birthday party and storytelling game. So I came back here and I sat alone and watched crappy TV and drank just a leetle too much vodka, can you tell? It's been months since I wrote anything here and all it takes is a little alcohol and a lot o loneliness to make me start typing again.
By the way, last night I watched, "My Man, Godfrey" and it is absolutely brilliant. Wonderful writing on a black and white movie - what more can you ask for???
I wish people still answered drunk calls. I wish I had something better to do right now. But you're all sleeping. I miss you all. I don't know what I want. I just ain't ready to sleep yet. It's too cold and lonely in that bed.
Sorry that I don't have anything more thought-provoking to say. Forgive me my indiscretions and try to remember that the morning will bring a few headaches and a few heartaches and that I love you.
I love you all.
Goddammit I hope I don't puke. |

| | David Bowie! | ] | Oy. I decided instead of trying to call anyone for my ramblings I will type them. I watched "Benny and Joon" for the first time last night, as well as "Nanny McPhee" which is comparable to "Mary Poppins". I woke up late and went to Henry's where I worked on HOMEWORK (feel impressed by my school-attending abilities!) and saw the_jackdaw_man with one of his friends. Then I went to the Gaslight with oxlajujimox. We met wolf_j there and watched a band named Baiowolf which I now classify as 80's nostalgic gay-boy gameboy electronica. It's just fun to say. After the musical goofiness I sat and talked to wolf_j for awhile. It's been a good long time since we've done that and I enjoyed myself. I hope we get to hang out some more before the St. Louis plan takes effect. Moving on to the next phase of the night I went over to Sunflower house and saw Dave and some other folks. There was beer-drinking and a dog named Wallace Tucker and we all watched "Joe vs. the Volcano". After that I went to IHOP for eggs and now I am to bed. I love you all. No Hatin', guys. No Hatin'. |

| | eeeeeeeeeee! | ] | Finally it has happened! A day that I have dreamed about for time immemorial. At last I have done it. What is it that I have done? Well, earlier today I have actually managed to acquire my own pet. Pets, actually. I am now the proud owner of two fancy rats. I'm tentatively naming them Daisy and Lavender. They are 4 weeks and 4 months old respectively. If you want to see them you should come visit me.
Hooray for Rodents! |

| [ | mood |
| | cheerful | ] | So, I thought you all should know... I'm intending to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of my birth tomorrow night. That's Monday, April the 24th (one day prior to my actual birthday). I will be hanging out at the Free State Brewery and the Replay Lounge as it stands now, starting somewhere around 7ish. I have no more solid plans than that, and I apologize for the short notice. If you have a desire to meet up with me that night give me a call and I'll let you know where I am. If you have any better suggestions I might be open to them too. |

| I'm falling off the face of the earth. |
[Apr. 18th, 2006|07:01 pm] |
My faith in many of my heretofore understood laws and theories has been tested of late. What is true? What intimations are sincere? Is there always some underlying motive, deliberately unremembered in any given moment? I try to write about the way I see the world, beautiful and strange, cold and vibrant. But there is no way I can extract these thoughts from those marching over the surface of my brain. Lives beginning and lovers parting, minds breaking and fears winning. All around me I can see people I love giving up and selling out.
I'm building a rocketship to the moon. Seats are limited and the prognosis isn't grand but I'm planning to get the fuck off this rock.
Then there will be mooncheese for everyone. |

I've been trying to maintain certain levels of participation in various aspects of my life and have thus far been failing. Instead of spending some time with everyone and doing most of the things I need to do, I end up half-assing my tasks and coming off as inconsiderate to my friends. I'm working too much to breathe but not enough to get by on. My car threatens to keel over at any moment. Opening night for my plays draws closer and closer and I am just starting to get nervous. There are no jobs in Lawrence newspapers that I'm qualified for and I hardly have any time to actually go around and canvas places. I don't want to give up, but I'm so worn down. I love you all... |

| | sore | ] | I have the sickness. It fills me and I don't like it. Howard keeps making me eat soup and tea, tea and soup, all day long. I am full, dammit! Full of Sickness!
But otherwise things are pretty good. I'm looking forward to next weekend and all the busy-ness it will entail. I will get to see some of my friends who've been kind of sparse in my life of late. It's really my fault in most cases.
In other news I am completely free tonight and Saturday night. First person to call me gets dibs. Ha, no seriously, somebody call me.
Oh yeah, and for those of you who don't know, Joe and Amy are going to have a baby. Everybody do the Baby Dance! Doo dee doo doo dee doo dee doooooooooo!!! |

Well, the good news is, my car is not exploded. Not yet anyway. And all I need to fix are 2 oil leaks. Yay for that.
To do list for this month: 1) Come up with an awesome Halloween costume. 2) Investigate Lawrence job scene. 3) Tell everyone about my rad new Gmail account (my user name - biteythevampire) 4) Scream.
I think I can accomplish all of that. |

Arrr, I be a pirate, surely as the the oceans be wet.
Or, at least, this quiz made up a name for me if I was:
My pirate name is: Black Mary Rackham Like anyone confronted with the harshness of robbery on the high seas, you can be pessimistic at times. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr! Get your own pirate name from fidius.org.
Happy Talk Like a Pirate Day, me Buckos! |

| | lethargic | ] | Ack! I just realized that I was tagged by Praecognomen in the list-twenty-things-about-yourself meme.
So let's see here...
1. I own more stuffed animals than shoes. 2. I co-wrote Mystery Science Theater-esque parodies of bad Harry Potter fanfiction. 3. I took Latin 4 twice in high school, not cause I flunked out, but because that was the highest they offered. 4. I know more about Stephen King novels than anyone should who isn't being paid for it. 5. I've hand my hands in a dog's guts. 6. I worked two part-time jobs in high school for no good reason. 7. I can STILL recite the prologue to the "Canterbury Tales" in Middle English. (Thank you, Mrs. Skates) 8. My current addictions consist of novels, cigarettes, and Sudoku! 9. I have notebooks scattered all over existence with poems of varying quality in them. 10. I can't in good conscience walk over those grates on the sidewalk for fear of what may be under them. 11. I can touch my tongue to the tip of my nose. 12. In kindergarten I had a boyfriend named David and I would go over to his house to watch animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles whether he was home or not. 13. Bill hicks is hands down my favorite comedian. And he's dead. I would have had his babies. (I'll miss you Goat Boy.) 14. My middle name is Michele. With one 'L'. 15. My grandmother told me that when I grew up I would be a nun or a princess. She died of Alzheimer's in a nursing home. 16. I usually pronounce neither like NEYE-ther, not NEE-ther. 17. If I could eat any kind of fruit in the world it would probably be fresh pineapple. 18. One of my fondest childhood memories is of when my mom would play her Pointer Sisters CD and my parents, sister, and I would dance and jump around on the furniture like fools. I especially liked jumping up and down during "Jump for my Love." 19. Everything is nineteen. 20. I think that if the world were a perfect place I could keep everyone I ever loved in my pocket until I wanted to talk to them.
There. If you want to know more about me than that, you just have to ask.
Oh, and I only have one person on my list to tag - iheartelvis32, you're up. |
